Our Trustees look after the wellbeing of both Milton and School woods in Farr with a clear goal of increasing biodiveristy whist providing safe access to our community. School wood offers a wonderful facility for the local primary school to explore and learn right on their doorstep. School wood also has a pavilion that can be booked for your own private function.
To maintain and increase the biodiversity of our woodlands with native flora and fauna for future generations to enjoy.
We generate our income from donations, the Strathnairn benefit fund and from selling any large scale felling of the forest.
Throughout the year we organise workdays where anyone can turn up and help us maintain the forest. No prior experience is necessary and all tools will be provided. All that is required is enthusiasm to help.
We look after two woods, school wood directly behind the primary school in Farr, and Milton wood at the southern edge of the village. In total we look after over 40 hectares of woodland.
The woods were donated in 2003 and have been looked after by the trustees ever since.
